Full of chocolate and peanut butter, this indulgent tasting smoothie is sweetened with banana and a touch of honey. 🙂
The weather outside is rainy and dreary, which means it’s a good day to blog. I’ve been working on a lot of new recipes over the past week, and am looking forward to sharing them soon! Next on the list is this Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Smoothie. Casey loves smoothies, and Sunday evenings are designated homemade popcorn and smoothie nights at our house. It gives me a break from cooking, and who doesn’t enjoy the sweet and salty combination of homemade popcorn and a fruit smoothie?
I’ve recently noticed that some of the most loved recipes on my blog are smoothie recipes, which, I admit, was a bit surprising! It just never occurred to me that people enjoy smoothies so much. I like them, but I didn’t realize how popular they are. This Strawberry Mango Smoothie is currently one of the top recipes on my blog. I suppose it does make sense. Smoothies are quick and very easy to customize. They’re ideal for busy people. For those who don’t particular enjoy eating fruits and vegetables, a smoothie is one way to increase your intake (as long as you’re careful/aware of the sugar content). My husband and I have gotten used to drinking my homemade smoothies, and one day last month we decided to get smoothies at a restaurant. They were so sweet we couldn’t finish them. So, for me, that’s definitely my one caveat when it comes to drinking smoothies – watching the amount of sugar and being aware of what is going into my smoothie!
Last Sunday, I wanted to do something a little more indulgent than our usual smoothie, so I whipped up this Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana version. It is naturally sweetened with the bananas and a little bit of honey (or you can leave the honey out if it is already sweet enough for your taste).
This smoothie is delicious and so creamy. We really enjoyed it! 🙂
